Original Protector

Looking over her shoulder
She walks away
Towards the gallery
One last glance as she lets go

Welcoming arms embrace her
At the entrance, her protector stands
Opening himself up for her
They stand and melt and become one

In the distance, her lost lover stands alone
His eyes heavy with regret
Knowing what he’s know for some time
She has surpassed him
He was always her protector

The artwork on the walls communicates
Her story and struggles
A life of learning and experience
Black lines of charcoal dash on pages
Pinned to walls with small descriptions
Exposing herself for the world to view

A new life
A new love
A new beginning
